Adviser of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for Medical Affairs, Brig. Gen. Adel Wahadneh, on Sunday, said Jordan’s epidemiological situation is “stable,” despite the “noticeable” spike in the number of Covid-19 infections and the rate of spread.

There is no steady rise in Covid-19 deaths, or a remarkable increase in occupancy rates at all levels, or Jordan’s hospitals and regions, Wahadneh pointed out.

Jordan’s epidemiological situation calls for more Covid-19- related caution and the means of curbing the disease, according to Wahadneh.

Wahadneh said global indicators indicate that Jordan’s in-class education is “still safe” with close monitoring, coupled with increased awareness of optional vaccinations for young people that proved their effectiveness and safety.

Infected cases should be dealt with “quickly” and students who have been in contact with patients should be isolated for a period ranging from 5 up to 7 days if no symptoms surfaced, he pointed out.
