Amman, The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) received a total of 8,158 complaints in 2022 on telecommunication and post services, up by 17%, compared with 2021 when it received 6,978 complaints, TRC said in a press statement on Sunday.

Ninety-two per cent of complaints in 2022 were addressed and solved, the TRC statement noted.

TRC added that complaints in 2022 included 6,326 relating to Internet services, 1,634 on mobile phone services, 140 for landline subscriptions, 54 for post services, and four for “qualitative approvals”.

The TRC referred to a “natural” increase in the number of complaints in 2022, compared to 2021, in light of the introduction and diversity of telecom services, especially Internet, which have become a mainstay of digital transformation and reliance of all public and private activities on online services to conduct business, primarily e-payment and distance learning.

This reality was evident as Internet-related complaints accounted for about 77% of the total complaints in 2022, the TRC noted.

TRC Chairman, Bassam Sarhan, said the Commission deals with “professionalism and transparency” in dealing with complaints, in coordination with all relevant authorities.

The statement said that the commission received complaints on the free number 117000, the following link dedicated to submitting a complaint http://complaints.trc.gov.jo/TRCForm, and the commission’s email @ Complaints&Enquiries TRC.GOV.JO, e-mail (trc@trc.gov.jo), TRC’s social platform accounts and its fax No. 06/5690830.
