The supervisory authorities at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply penalized 182 establishments and 83 individuals for flouting Defense Order No. (20), which obligates social distancing and the use of face masks.
According to a statement on Monday by the ministry, tickets were issued to a number of supermarkets, grocery and food supplies stores, restaurants, factories, workshops, coffee shops, and stores selling household appliances.
The supervisory authorities, the ministry added, will continue intensive monitoring operations across the Kingdom to ensure that facilities and individuals adhere to safety and preventive health requirements.
The ministry stressed the need to adhere to preventive health requirements, including wearing face masks, social distancing, and not crowding inside and outside the facilities during the holy month of Ramadan, when shoppers usually flood the market.
