Russia recorded Tuesday the highest daily COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic in the county, with 737 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the country’s COVID response centre said.
The Russian Centre for Coronavirus Control said more than 23,370 people tested positive for the highly contagious respiratory disease on Tuesday, taking the tally to some 5.65 million.
At least 5.1 million people have recovered from the disease so far, it added.
