Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) on Sunday held a ceremony in celebration of placing the picture of Petra (the Red Rose City) on a Boeing 787 (Dreamliner), which serves RJ’s medium and long-range routes.

RJ, as the Kingdom national carrier, aims at marketing Jordan as a world tourist destination.

The ceremony was attended by HRH Princess Dana Firas, President of the Petra National Trust (PNT), UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage, RJ Chairman, Saeed Darwaza, members of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman/CEO, Samer Majali and members of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) and the concerned authorities at Queen Alia International Airport and a group of stakeholders in the RJ.

During the ceremony, held at Queen Alia Airport, Majali said that, since its establishment, Royal Jordanian has clearly taken upon itself to contribute to Jordan’s tourism promotion at home and abroad, as the company realizes the importance of this national role that it must fulfill, and it has always represented an air bridge linking Jordan with the countries of the world, turning it into a traveling ambassador to Jordan.

He added that this project was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the JTB to promote the Red Rose City, which is characterized by its unique landmarks and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Majali noted that this initiative aims at promoting Jordan at various stations the RJ aircrafts reach, and represents a mobile billboard, as Jordan is an attractive point for foreign tourism due to many factors that made it distinguished in this field and various services that tourists of different nationalities and cultures find.
