Remittances to/from Jordan dropped, JMEA chief says

Remittances flow into and out of the Kingdom has dropped by 20 percent since the middle of November, president of the Jordanian Money Exchange Association (JMEA) Abdulsalam Al Saudi said Wednesday.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Al Saudi attributed this drop to the tourism trend towards the World Cup in Qatar.

He also indicated that the demand for the US dollar and the Jordanian dinar is within the normal levels, calling for a review of interest rates in order to enhance economic activity.
