Criminal Police officers Saturday nabbed a man from a foreign nationality who tried to defraud Jordanians of certain amounts of cash in a “black dollar” scam.
The Public Security Department said preventive security agents carried out investigations upon receiving information that a man from an undisclosed foreign nationality tried to “lure a number of people to defraud them with the black dollar, and his ability to transform white papers cut in the size of dollars to real currency notes.”
After gathering data, the man was identified and arrested with a “quantity of chemical substances found in his possession in addition to white papers that were the size of the US currency,” it said.
The department said there is nothing called “black dollar” or less-than-market-value dollars, warning people not to deal with such persons and to deem them as fraudsters and inform security agencies about them.
