Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh on Sunday underscored the need to implement a royal directive to pardon those convicted of lèse-majesté as soon as possible.
Yesterday evening, His Majesty King Abdullah directed the government to look into all cases related to lèse-majesté, which violate article 195 of the Penal Code and in which final rulings have been issued, in order to grant a special pardon to those convicted in such cases.
