Prime Minister and Defense Minister Bisher Khasawneh met Saturday with German Federal Minister of Defence Christine Lambrecht.

During the meeting, which was attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hunaiti, Khasawneh stressed the close relations between Jordan and Germany and the Kingdom’s keen interest to further cement cooperation in the various fields.

The German minister stressed the “distinguished” relations with Jordan, noting the Kingdom’s role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting efforts to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting touched on areas of cooperation in the defence field, training and the exchange of expertise between the armed forces of the two countries as well as efforts to combat terrorism.
