Ahmad Zoubi, a member of the Local Administration Committee, in turn, stressed the importance of the committee’s work and its quest to reach consensus recommendations that fit laws of local administration and municipalities, pointing out that the committee was briefed on all laws related to local administration since the thirties of the last century, including laws of municipalities and the Amman Municipality.
Zoubi indicated that the committee held extensive dialogues with various experts and specialists with the aim of reaching recommendations on laws related to local administration, noting that there are no specific laws that the committee is working on to formulate and approve, but merely recommendations that will be submitted to the Executive Council and then presented to the General Authority of the Royal Committee.
For his part, spokesperson for the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System, Muhannad Mobaideen, said that the subcommittees continue their meetings and discuss the draft laws on their agenda.
Mobaideen told (Petra) that the sub-committees are conducting extensive discussions, and some decisions have been agreed upon within the committees of parties, elections, local administration, youth empowerment and women’s empowerment, and their recommendations were presented in this regard.
Mobaideen pointed out that the Election Committee is continuing to examine the optimal picture and some applications of the expected election law, as is the case with the Parties Committee, which is currently continuing to discuss legislative frameworks for the establishment of parties in terms of the number of founders and members.
