The Jordanian-European Parliamentary Friendship Association discussed with the French Ambassador Veronique Vouland bilateral relations and means to enhance them in all fields, especially parliamentary ones.

During the meeting on Thursday, Chairman of the association Khaldoun Hayna described the Jordanian-French relations as ‘distinct and historical,’ the foundations of which were laid by the leaders of the two countries at various levels, stressing the importance of building and strengthening them to serve common interests of both countries and the two friendly peoples.

He called for boosting aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two sides in the economic, investment, educational, tourism, agricultural and water fields, and working to develop them to benefit the common interests of both countries.

He commended France’s firm stances on regional issues, especially on the Palestinian cause, as well as the volume of French investments in the Kingdom. He voiced hope to keep strengthening them in the field of tourism and medical tourism, noting that Jordan is very advanced in this area.

The envoy said that relations between France and Jordan are distinguished at various levels, adding that His Majesty King Abdullah II and French President Emmanuel Macron see eye-to-eye on many international and regional issues, especially the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. She pointed out that France is very supportive of all of Jordan’s positions in international forums.

She also hailed the deep-rooted relations between the two friendly peoples, which manifested in the Jordanian and French parliaments, stressing her country’s commitment to enhance those relations and work on cooperation, exchange of expertise, visits and meetings that serve the two countries.
