Jordan, Ukraine celebrate 29 years of diplomatic ties

Jordan and Ukraine on Monday will mark the 29th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

In a statement on Sunday, the Embassy of Ukraine in Jordan said that these years have been a time of continuous progress and gradual improvement as the two capitals showed consistent solidarity on issues of mutual importance.

“Jordan’s support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine has been of critical importance for the bilateral dialogue. Unwavering support of Ukraine to the Middle East Peace Process and the two-state solution is a continued proof of Kyiv’s solidarity with the Kingdom and its priorities,” the Embassy added.

The diplomatic body pointed to the conversation between the leaders of two states that took place on April 13 this year, saying it has highlighted the recent developments in bilateral relations and allowed to pave the way on a number of mutually beneficial projects.

“There is a lot of work to be done to fully grasp and bring to reality the immense potential of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Jordan. However, we are happy that even today amid the global pandemic and its repercussions, thorough work and coordinated steps have led to the progress in the trade and economic sphere and enhanced dialogue in the security domain” the Embassy said.

It added that Ukraine has helped and will save no effort to continue educating the Jordanian students making them ready to work in the key industries of the Kingdom, including medicine, engineering, IT, education, and many others.

To conclude the statement, the Embassy stressed that Ukraine will stand together with Jordan as a reliable friend and true partner.
