A Jordanian delegation participated in the activities of the 54th session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development in New York, which was held during the period 19-23 April, via visual communication technology.
In a statement on Thursday, the Higher Population Council said that the delegation discussed Jordan’s position paper on population, food security, nutrition and sustainable development.
The paper underlined Jordan’s commitment to the international recommendations of the International Conference on Population and Development Program of Action and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, especially the second goal (ending hunger and promote sustainable agriculture). The Kingdom is also working to implement policies and programs to enhance food security and eliminate hunger and malnutrition according to international recommendations.
