A Jordanian army officer was sentenced to five years in prison by a military court on Sunday over a Facebook post he made criticising the government’s handling of a public health crisis in 2021. Nidal Tarazi, a 29-year-old officer, posted on Facebook about the March 2021 Al-Salt hospital incident, in which ten Covid-19 patients died due to a lack of oxygen at the hospital causing national outcry.
