Jordan on Friday condemned the Israeli assaults on worshippers at Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah al-Fayez said such assault is a violation of Al Aqsa Mosque’s sanctity and worshipers” safety.
He stressed that the Jerusalem Awqaf Department is the sole authority responsible for administrating all the Aqsa Mosque’s affairs, calling on Israel to respect the historical and legal status quo in the holy city.
He also called on Israel, as the occupying force, to respect its obligations in accordance with international law and halt its violations and attacks in the holy city of Jerusalem.
