Gaza, Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 7,000 Palestinians throughout 2022 in what was described as the “bloodiest” year in the last decade, according to the 2022 Harvest Report.

The 2022 Harvest Report, a joint report issued by several human and prisoner rights groups, concluded that 2022 was the “bloodiest” and the highest regarding crimes and abuse in the last decade.

In their annual report, issued Sunday, the human rights groups stated that 2022 witnessed many shifts regarding arrest operations carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, which were mainly linked to the escalation of the struggle against the occupation.

According to the report, the Israeli forces arrested 7,000 Palestinians, including Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem and Gaza. The percentage of Palestinians detained in 2022 is much higher than the previous year, especially in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

The groups and institutions that produced the report are the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, Addameer Association for Prisoner Care and Human Rights and Wadi Hilweh Centre – Jerusalem.
