The Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Dhiab Abdullah, signed with the Syrian Minister of Irrigation, Tammam Muhammad Raad, minutes of joint technical cooperation between the two countries, and minutes of the joint cooperation meeting between the two national committees in the government’s National Hydrological Program (IHP).

A statement by the Ministry of Resources stated that during the signing ceremony of the minutes, bilateral relations and ways of advancing and developing them were discussed in the long term, as the Syrian minister praised the long-standing bilateral relations and the common interest between the two countries, stressing “fruitful cooperation, exchange of information and data, and continued cooperation with international organizations to serve the two countries.”

Minister Dhiab also reviewed the depth of joint cooperation and the existence of ancient civilizations for both countries for thousands of years, and they have a great impact on building these countries that were distinguished by their ancient history and originality, calling for continuing joint cooperation to achieve common goals and obtain water rights and work jointly, seriously and dedication, and clear understanding in Managing the Euphrates River.
