Amman, IRADA programme prepared about 1,979 economic feasibility studies for small, medium and micro projects, with a total investment volume of JD35 million during 2022, its Head of Central Support Unit, Sami Olaimi, said.

In an interview with “Petra,” Olaimi noted approximately 2, 443 job opportunities were created to carry out those studies.

During 2022, the programme worked to implement and launch about 1,186 projects, including small and medium enterprises (SME), while a total of 769 projects received loans with a total value of about JD10.5 million, he announced.

Out of the total projects, 48% were commercial, 29% were service-related , then agricultural by 11%, industrial by 9%, tourism by 3%, he noted.

With regard to the 417 micro and household projects that were established, he noted home service enterprises were the the largest in numbers, accounting for 41%.

Meanwhile, he noted agricultural enterprises accounted for 27%, home commercial by 18%, industrial by 11%, tourism were less than 4%.

IRADA, which is a national programme launched by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation since 2002 as a development initiatives, aims to develop local communities and improve Jordanian’s living conditions by improving their productivity, he pointed out.

In addition, he noted the programme’s activities focus on poor areas, by stimulating the community to launch and develop SME that improve the citizens’ income and raise their living standard.
