India’s Ambassador to Jordan Anwar Halim on Saturday opened the Indo-Jordanian Center for Excellence in Information Technology at Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU).

During the opening, Halim lauded His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts in promoting technological progress, and his quest to turn Jordan into a pioneer in this field, based on his keenness on the importance of technology in contemporary life.

He said that the establishment of the center, which will be fully managed by the HTU and Jordanian expertise, comes within the framework of Jordan and India’s keenness to keep pace with everything new in the world “to serve the interests of our two friendly countries and peoples.”

He indicated that the center will work, within the next five-year plan, to train and graduate about 3,000 experts from Jordan in the field of technology, who will undoubtedly contribute to leading and promoting technological progress, and achieving Jordan’s development and advancement.

The center an initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), which was established in cooperation between the HTU and India’s C-DAC Center.
