HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad presents Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal of Medical Merit to GSA staff

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) presented Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal of Medical Merit to a number of GSA affiliates.

The handing of the merit comes per the order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to all concerned authorities to present the merit to medical teams, Bahrain Defence Force, Interior Ministry and other backup organisations.

During the ceremony which was attended by GSA Deputy Chairman HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad presented the medal to Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, GSA Chief Executive Officer, Rashid Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, Director of the Legal Affairs and Licensing Department, Mohamed Shawky Sulais, Director of the Control and Audit Department, and Ali Saeed, Sports Services Specialist.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said that the that the pride of HM the King and the appreciation of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in the dedicated national efforts exerted by all the health professionals in the frontlines of the fight against the novel Coronavirus represent a model to to continue dedicated work with the Bahrain Team towards achieving national interests.

He said that Bahrain, led by HM the King, managed to mitigate the repercussions of the pandemic, expressing pride in the sports sector for its participation of the Team ahrain.

He congratulated the recipients of the medals, commended the dedicated efforts made by the sports community and the GSA staff through their active participation in the Team Bahrain to combat the pandemic.

The recipients took pride in the honour, expressing thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad for his directives and support, which would motivate them to continue serving the nation.
