Fakhoury calls for cooperation in population studies and development field

Amman, Dec. 27 (Petra)–Members of the Higher Population Council on Wednesday discussed accomplishments of the council in the 4th quarter of this year, its annual plan and its 2018 draft budget.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and chairman of the council’s board of trustees Imad Fakhoury highlighted during the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers and representatives of concerned international institutions, the importance of cooperating will Jordanian universities and the Scientific Research Fund in the field of population studies and development.

He also affirmed the importance of accomplishment made by the council as well as the council’s role in addressing population issues and challenges through drawing up population and development policies as well as preparing studies that would contribute to dealing with these challenges.

During the meeting, the council’s secretary general Maison Al Zu’bi reviewed accomplishments that have been made by the council during the last quarter of this year.
