Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef al-Fayez, said the 2021 amended Jordan Tourism Board by-law includes a new article to establish an independent Tourist Risks Account.
Al-Fayez told Petra that the amended by-law that includes establishing a board of directors entrusted with defining terms and procedures of requests to obtain facilities and financial assistance from the account in accordance with instructions issued by the board for this purpose.
Approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, the amended by-law came to mitigate the impacts stemmed from the COVID-19 pandemic on professions at this key sector, al-Fayez said.
