Austrian FM From Baghdad: We Are Here In Baghdad To Deepen Relations With Iraq In Several Fields


Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed that Iraq welcomes Austrian companies.



He said in a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart, Alexander Schallenberg: “During our discussions, we touched on political consultations, and our continued relations.”



He added: We discussed the return of Austrian Airlines to Baghdad.



He pointed out that the issue of the Iraqi community in Austria, which numbered 30,000, was discussed.



For his part, the Austrian Foreign Minister announced the reopening of his country’s embassy in Baghdad.



He added: We are here in Baghdad in order to deepen relations with Iraq in several fields.



Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg confirmed that he will sign an agreement with Iraq today in the field of internal security



Schallenberg said: “My visit to Baghdad is related to reopening the embassy in Iraq,” stressing that “Iraq plays an important role in stabilizing the region.”



Hussein stressed, “The Iraqi constitution does not allow any party to use Iraqi territory to attack neighboring countries.”/End

Al-Halbousi Discusses The Water File With The Turkish Ambassador


Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, received today, Tuesday, the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Gonay.



Al-Halbousi’s office stated in a statement: “The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to enhance cooperation in the security and economic fields, the water file, and a number of topics of common interest.”/End

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein arrived in Parliament to attend the House of Representatives session today, Tuesday, the agenda of which is limited to an open public discussion of the water issue.



The Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee recently held a joint meeting with the Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Dhiab, and members of the government team in charge of the water scarcity crisis./End

The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, discussed today, Tuesday, with the delegation of the Parliamentary State of Law Bloc cooperation between the legislative and judicial authorities.



The judiciary media stated in a statement that “Zaidan received a delegation from the State of Law parliamentary bloc and discussed with them cooperation between the legislative and judicial authorities.”

Bahrain participates in Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments


Advisor Rashid bin Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Bunajma, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, affirmed that the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on using modern technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) have resulted in improving services across all sectors in Bahrain which contributed to many achievements.



The Secretary-General stressed the council’s keenness to utilise social media platforms, out of its belief in the importance of keeping pace with media development and employing it in an optimal manner to serve the council’s objectives of communication with citizens and enhancing their awareness of legislative, parliamentary work and the democratic process.



This came during his participation in the tenth edition of Conference of the Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments, which was held in Qatar on September 12-13 under the theme “Digital Democracy and Social Communication and the Role of Parliaments in Strengthening them”.



Bunajma said the council launched the Digital Parliament project, which aims to invest in modern technologies and develop administrative and training performance through digital transformation.



It also launched a bundle of projects to support the progress of parliamentary work such as the electronic minutes; indexing, research and analysis process and the systems for electronic voting, notifications and the digital library.

Transportation Minister meets IMO Secretary-General


Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met Kitack Lim, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) on the sideline of Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SMIC) held in Jeddah.



They discussed the IMO activities, and stressed the importance of sustainable maritime services.



Al Kaabi affirmed Bahrain’s participation in IMO Assembly next November, as well as its for the organisation’s efforts to regulate safety and environmental security standards for global maritime shipping.

Custom President meets Israeli Ambassador


Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs received Eitan Na’eh, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain.



Shaikh Ahmed stressed the importance of further enhancing cooperation to facilitate travel and trade and improve level of customs services.



They discussed topics of common interest and ways to further enhance continuous cooperation.



Na’eh expressed his appreciation to Shaikh Ahmed and stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen all aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
