Social Development Minister meets General Supervisor of National Plan Executive Office

?Manama, Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, met with Brigadier-General Mohammed bin Mohammed bin Dinah General Supervisor of the Executive Office of the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna).

?The minister lauded the effort of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Bahrainouna, in supporting the promotion of the national values within the community and the implementation of Bahrainouna’s initiatives since its launch in 2019.

?The minister highlighted the initiatives and services that the ministry provides for the community, noting that it seeks to enhance community partnership in the fields of social care and protection.

?He praised the achievements of Bahrainouna to consolidate the values of citizenship and enhance national identity in the society, stressing the ministry’s keenness to enhance cooperation through initiatives and programmes.

?Bin Dinah affirmed the support of the Minister of the Interior, and his keenness to move forward in achieving the objectives of Bahrainouna.

?He added that Bahrainouna achieved more than 107 initiatives in its first phase (2019 – 2022).

?Bin Dinah expressed his appreciation and the members of the Executive Office for the projects that the ministry has implemented to support the initiative.

Speaker congratulates newly-elected Omani Shura Council Chairman

Manama, Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam sent a cable of congratulations to Khalid bin Hilal bin Nasser Al Maawali, on his election as Shura Council Chairman of Oman.

Al Musallam affirmed that Al Maawali’s success in winning the election uncontested reflected the parliamentary confidence in him thanks to his competence, contributions and continuous efforts in developing parliamentary work, as well as enhancing joint Gulf Cooperation Council, Arab, and international parliamentary action.

He affirmed the keenness of the Council of Representatives to strengthen cooperation with Oman’s Shura Council in various sectors.

The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in the social care sector.

The minister praised the Bahrain-France relations, wishing the ambassador success in his duties.

The ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness in strengthening the partnership.

Transportation Minister receives Somali Communications Minister

Manama, Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Jama Hassan Khalif, Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal of Somalia.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ITU Regional Development Forum for Arab Region 2023 held in Bahrain.

They reviewed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various sectors, especially in communications and information technology.

Colombian President receives credentials of Bahraini Ambassador

Bogotá, President Gustavo Petro of Colombia, received the credentials of Bader Abbas Al Helaibi, Bahraini Ambassador to Colombia, residing in Brasilia.

The ambassador conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the Colombian President.

President Petro praised the Bahraini-Colombian relations, wishing the ambassador success in performing his diplomatic duties.

The ambassador expressed keenness to advance bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

Safadi takes part at Arab summit preparations in Riyadh

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, took part in the preparatory foreign ministers’ meeting for the Arab League Summit, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia tomorrow. The meeting touched on the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories. Prior to the meeting, Safadi met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and discussed efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza and the suffering and humanitarian crisis it is causing, as well as to ensure that the Palestinian brothers in the Strip receive timely and sufficient humanitarian aid. In the framework of the ongoing Arab effort to halt the war, Safadi also met with his Arab foreign ministers, participating in the meeting.

Jordan supports UN resolution affirming Palestinian sovereignty over their natural resources

Jordan voted before the Second Committee of the General Assembly on a draft resolution on the permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights over their natural resources. 151 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 6 countries opposed it, and 11 countries voted to abstain. According to the resolution, the Assembly reaffirms “the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and the population of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights to their natural resources, including land, water, and energy resources.” Jordan also backed a committee resolution that held Israel responsible for the oil spill on the beaches in Lebanon

The US Ambassador praises the efforts of the Iraqi government for sending a third shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza

Baghdad – US Ambassador Elena Romanowski praised the government’s efforts to send a third shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Ambassador said in a tweet on the X website: “I commend the efforts of the Iraqi government for sending a third shipment containing 11 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza.”

She added: Our efforts are crucial in increasing the flow of aid to the Palestinian people, and it is important to continue delivering food aid, water, and medical materials to innocent people in Gaza.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulates the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia

Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today sent a cable of congratulations to the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, on the occasion of Cambodia’s Independence Day.

His Royal Highness sent a similar cable to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, HE Dr. Hun Manet.

SCIA President participates in climate summit

Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), participated in the Global Religious Leaders Summit for Climate that was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The summit was organised by the Muslim Council of Elders in collaboration with the United National Climate Change Conference (COP28).

The summit discussed the role of religious communities and institutions in addressing climate change and challenges.

Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed praised UAE’s efforts in supporting and advocating global humanitarian issues, affirming Bahrain’s pride in the longstanding relations between the two countries, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He said the global summit was an important platform for exchanging ideas and expertise, as well as a pioneering initiative to engage religious leaders in advocating for climate issues.
