Egypt Wednesday pledged “full” support for Iraq in its pursuit to realise its strategic goal of restoring its regional role.
In a meeting with the Speaker of Iraq’s Parliament Mohamed Halbousi, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi emphasised the importance of the parliamentary elections shaping the future of Iraq and strengthening its institutions.
El-Sissi reiterated his rejection of foreign intervention in the affairs of Iraq, stressing the need for countries to respect the sovereignty of other states and not to meddle in their internal affairs.
