Cairo, The Arab League Monday welcomed the signing of the framework political agreement in Sudan, which includes consensus on several transitional authority structures as a step towards achieving the desired Sudanese national accord.
The pan-Arab organisation Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said the Arab League is “fully committed” to supporting national efforts that achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people in establishing the values of a modern state and achieving stability.
The spokesman for the Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdi, quoted Aboul Gheit as saying that the agreement is an “important achievement” on the road to crossing the country from the transitional stage to the stage of political and economic stability.
