Amman, The Afghani security forces carried out a series of airstrikes in three districts of Helmand province killing at least 13 Taliban militants, according to the Khaama Press News Agency.
The military officials said Tuesday that an airstrike killed 5 Taliban fighters and wounded 2 others in Marjah district of Helmand.
In the meantime, an airstrike killed two fighters in Sangin district of Helmand.
A similar airstrike killed 6 Taliban fighters in Nahr-e-Saraj district of the province.
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan.
The anti-government armed militants often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities in the restive parts of Helmand.
Meanwhile, the Afghan forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed elements.
The U.S. forces also conduct regular airstrikes in restive parts of the country to suppress Taliban and other anti-government militants.
