Miami International Holdings Reports June 2022 Trading Results; Sets Year-to-Date Volume Records

PRINCETON, N.J., July 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Miami International Holdings, Inc. (MIH) today reported June 2022 trading results for its U.S. exchange subsidiaries – MIAX®, MIAX Pearl® and MIAX Emerald® (together, the MIAX Exchange Group™), and Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX™).

June 2022 Trading Volume Highlights

  • Total U.S. multi-listed options market share for the MIAX Exchange Group reached 13.74%, down 171 basis points year-over-year (YoY) and representing an 11.1% decrease. A total of 101.9 million multi-listed options contracts were executed on the MIAX Exchange Group, representing a 20.2% decrease YoY and an average daily volume (ADV) of 4,852,472 contracts. Total year-to-date (YTD) volume reached a record 662.8 million contracts, an increase of 2.6% from the same period in 2021.
  • MIAX Options reported record YTD volume of 273.2 million contracts, up 12.1% from the same period in 2021, with volume reaching 42.9 million contracts in June 2022, a 22.6% YoY decrease. MIAX Emerald reported record YTD volume of 171.1 million contracts, a 5.7% increase from the same period in 2021, with volume totaling 22.4 million contracts in June 2022, a 16.4% YoY decrease. MIAX Pearl reported YTD volume of 218.4 million contracts, a 9.1% decrease from the same period in 2021, with volume totaling 36.6 million contracts in June 2022, a 19.5% YoY decrease.
  • In U.S. equities, MIAX Pearl Equities™ reported monthly volume of 2.4 billion shares in June 2022, representing a 236.1% increase YoY and a market share of 0.89%. Total YTD volume reached a record 15.3 billion shares, a 513.5% increase from the same period in 2021.
  • MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), reported trading volume of 347,471 contracts in June 2022, a 15.8% decrease YoY. Total YTD volume reached a record 1,787,014 contracts, an increase of 0.2% from the same period in 2021.
  • SPIKES® Futures volume totaled 63,343 contracts in June 2022, a 53.4% increase from the 41,289 contract total in May 2022 and representing an ADV of 3,016 contracts.

Xiamen promotes high-quality BRI development

XIAMEN, China, July 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — A report from China Daily:

As a key port city of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Silk Road Economic Belt, the coastal city of Xiamen in East China’s Fujian province  has made contentious efforts to expand and improve maritime corridors and enhance economic and trade exchanges along the Maritime Silk Road.

Xiamen was historically significant as the beginning of the Maritime Silk Road. The city has the geographic advantage of connecting the north and south, as well as the east and west, and it has long played a crucial and necessary role in the country’s development strategy.

Blessed with the above unique advantages, Xiamen has attached great importance to increasing interconnectivity in countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), aiming to build an efficient and convenient sea, land and air transport network for BRI countries and regions. All these efforts have proved successful for Xiamen to consolidate its position in land-sea transport under the BRI.

In 2015, the city launched the China-Europe Express (Xiamen), which has helped integrate the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Silk Road, and become a new engine for promoting the connectivity of the BRI.

As of the end of May, 1,147 China-Europe freight trains loaded with goods worth 27.71 billion yuan ($4.13 billion) departed from Xiamen for Europe, according to official data. The China-Europe Express (Xiamen) has opened three main routes from Xiamen to Hamburg in Germany, Central Asia and Russia.

A total of 2,026 standard containers carrying goods worth more than 1 billion yuan were handled by the combined sea-rail service from Xiamen, according to the freight operators.

The city’s railway authorities have also launched innovative and tailor-made services for local enterprises, such as the TPV Display Special Train, enabling fast and convenient transport from Xiamen to the TPV plant in Poland.

In 2018, Xiamen launched the Silk Road Maritime, a new logistics facilitation platform, which aims to add tremendous value to shipping operations in the eastern region by optimizing routes currently in use.

As of the end of 2021, a total of 86 routes joined the Silk Road Maritime platform, connecting 102 ports in 29 countries, and the new logistics platform has been playing an important role in enhancing transportation networks and promoting trade in countries and regions involved in the BRI.

Vantage partners Supercar Blondie to take its global ESG journey into overdrive.

Bedford, Mass., July 08, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Conagen, the Massachusetts-based biotech firm, announced the commercialization of an expansive portfolio of natural sweetness enhancers for taste modification in sugar reduction solutions for food and beverages. The enhancers are made with precision fermentation, a technology that has led to the innovation of an extensive platform of phenolic antioxidants.

Sweetness enhancers in the market today are made by chemical synthesis or by using an organic solvent extraction method, both of which are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and environmentally unfriendly. Conagen’s precision fermentation method is a preferred, clean, and sustainable method for developing sweetness enhancement compounds.

SmartX’s HCI Market Share is on the Rise – IDC Report

SmartX Ranked 1st in China HCI SW Financial Vertical Market for 2 Consecutive Years
