Arriving to select international markets beginning this month, HONOR Magic4 Pro debuts with AI Privacy Call, a pain point killer feature that massively minimizes sound leakage during voice calls; Ultra-Fusion Computational Photography, a camera solution that enables users to take full advantage of the smartphone’s multiple rear cameras; and the Quad-Curved LTPO Display, a stunning display that provides immersive viewing experiences. Each of these features poses a set of unique manufacturing challenges, the solutions to which are only made possible by HONOR’s R&D and manufacturing synergy.

With each generation of smartphones, smartphone makers have been continuously shifting the receiver towards the top bezel in attempt to achieve an increased display area. However, the closer the receiver is placed near the edge, the more pronounced the sound leakage during voice calls, leading to privacy concerns.

To address this user pain point, HONOR identified and solved over 100 technological challenges and created AI Privacy Call. This innovative feature leverages the industry-first Intelligent Dual Sound-Emitting Unit, which includes a bone conduction component using piezoelectric ceramics that is mounted directly to the display. Due to the nature of glass, the assembly process requires extreme precision – even minor manufacturing deviations will permanently damage the panel. Working hand in hand, the R&D and manufacturing teams were able to overcome the challenge in three months’ time. The concerted efforts resulted in the creation of the automated high-precision mounting equipment, which leverages computer vision and optimized algorithms to achieve an accuracy of 0.01mm and a yield of 99.99 percent, contributing to HONOR’s ability to meet consumer demands for the HONOR Magic4 Pro.

The HONOR Magic4 Pro is also equipped with a powerful Triple Camera combination supporting Ultra-Fusion Computational Photography. The complexity of the solution in the new flagship smartphone necessitated double the camera calibration equipment compared to what was required for its predecessor. Benefitting from improved calibration and testing procedures, the Triple Camera system, combined with AI algorithms, delivers more detailed images with more authentic colors across the full supported focal range.

Advanced assembly processes are also adopted for the Quad-Curved LTPO Display on HONOR Magic4 Pro.  Leveraging a cutting-edge setup of six-axis robotic arms, high-precision cameras and HONOR-developed computer vision algorithms, the mounting equipment operates with an accuracy range of ±0.075mm and outputs products with a low manufacturing tolerance of just 0.1mm, further demonstrating HONOR’s superior manufacturing capabilities.

The Park is also equipped with industry-leading laboratories, including a reliability laboratory, regulatory laboratory and environmental protection laboratory, with which HONOR conducts over 200 reliability tests on the HONOR Magic4 Pro to ensure its premium quality. For instance, the HONOR Magic4 Pro is tested to have a Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value – which measures smartphone radiation emission – that is 56 percent below the limit of the most stringent industry standard.

Huawei Launches PowerPOD 3.0, a New Generation of Power Supply System

DONGGUAN, China, May 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — During the Huawei Next-Generation Data Center Facility launch event, Fei Zhenfu, CTO of Huawei Data Center Facility Team, released a new generation of power supply solution—PowerPOD 3.0. Through core technology innovation and component convergence, the solution optimizes the layout and builds a worry-free data center power supply system that saves footprint, power, and time.

Footprint saving: 40% smaller footprint

By using an innovative converged architecture and the industry’s ultra-high-density UPS5000-H, the power density per cabinet is increased and the space layout of the power supply system is optimized. The number of cabinets is reduced from 22 to 11, resulting in a significant footprint decrease. In a 12 MW data center, for example, the footprint saved by the PowerPOD 3.0 solution allows for deploying more than 170 additional racks compared with a traditional power supply solution.

Power saving: 70% lower consumption

The link efficiency of a traditional power supply solution is generally lower than 94.5%. In contrast, PowerPOD 3.0 raises the efficiency up to 97.8% while shortening the link length. In addition, the UPS5000-H delivers an efficiency of 99.1% in S-ECO mode, effectively reducing power consumption. Using the PowerPOD 3.0 in a 12 MW data center will save nearly 300,000 U.S. dollars each year.

Time saving: 75% shorter delivery

A traditional power supply solution requires about 35 copper bars and 180 cables to be connected onsite, resulting in high-quality risks and a delivery period of 2 months. The PowerPOD 3.0 uses tray-alike prefabricated busbars for internal connections. With prefabrication and commissioning completed in the factory, onsite construction can be completed only in 2 weeks, accelerating service rollout for customers.

Worry free: 40% lower fault rate in SLA

Based on the concept of “autonomous driving” and AI technologies, the PowerPOD 3.0 is armed with iPower intelligent feature, which provides two-layer reliable designs for end-to-end visibility as well as AI temperature prediction, life prediction of key components, and intelligent setting. Defining the Next-Generation Data Center Facility

Charles Yang, Senior Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Huawei Data Center Facility Team, introduced the groundbreaking definition of the Next-Generation Data Center Facility at the launch event. He said that technical experts and industry authorities have reached a consensus on the four characteristics of next-generation data center facilities after extensive and in-depth discussions, that is, Sustainable, Simplified, Autonomous Driving, and Reliable.

Sustainable: Next-generation data center facilities will be fully green and energy-efficient while maximizing the recycling of all data center materials. In this way, the overall data center ecosystem will be eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable. Sustainable data centers can be achieved by utilizing green resources – electricity, land, and water – and maximizing the recycling of used materials throughout the life cycle. In addition to the extensively used Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), other metrics, including Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE), Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), and Grid Usage Effectiveness (GUE), will also be used to measure data center sustainability.

O&M automation enables engineers to complete the inspection of 2000 racks in 5 minutes remotely. GPDRR: Indonesia offers sustainable resilience to tackle disaster risk

JAKARTA, Indonesia, May 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — At the 2022 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) event, the Government of Indonesia offered the world the concept of sustainable resilience as a solution to address the challenges of systemic disaster risk.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo highlighted this concept at the opening ceremony of the 2022 GPDRR in Nusa Dua, here, on Wednesday.

The sustainable resilience concept is considered to be a solution to tackle all forms of disasters, including facing a pandemic and concurrently supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Jokowi remarked.

He highlighted the need to apply several measures to build sustainable resilience.

“First, we should strengthen an anticipatory, responsive, and adaptive disaster preparedness culture as well as institutions in dealing with disasters,” President Jokowi stated.

According to the president, disaster mitigation education and government institutions that are synergistic and responsive to disasters must become a shared priority.

Jokowi explained that the second measure deemed necessary is for every country to invest in science, innovation, and technology, including in ensuring access to finance and technology transfer.

“Access to funding is an important issue that we must take seriously. Indonesia has developed a strategy for funding and disaster insurance by establishing a pooling fund and using development funds at local levels to support disaster mitigation and preparedness,” he stated.

The third measure is by building infrastructure that is resilient to disasters and climate change.

“(This is) in addition to mitigating (the impacts on) physical infrastructure, such as dams, breakwaters, reservoirs, and embankments; green infrastructure, such as mangrove forests, shrimp seedlings on the coast; … as well as the development of open spaces to be part of the realization of infrastructure development,” Jokowi pointed out.

“The protection of vulnerable groups living in high disaster risk areas must also get special attention,” he stressed.

Lastly, the Indonesian president invited all countries to commit to implementing global agreements at the national and local levels.

“The Sendai Framework, the Paris Agreement, and the SDGs are important international agreements in the efforts to reduce disaster risk and climate change. I invite all countries to be committed and serious about implementing it,” Jokowi stated.

He affirmed that disaster risk reduction is an effective investment to prevent future losses.

“To that end, we affirm Indonesia’s commitment to implementing the Sendai Framework as well as other international commitments,” he stressed.

The head of state also expressed Indonesia’s readiness to share experiences and knowledge in disaster mitigation.

“As a disaster-prone country, Indonesia has accumulated knowledge and experience that can be an important lesson for the world, but Indonesia is also eager to learn from international experience,” Jokowo emphasized.

“Let’s work together to mitigate (impacts and manage risks with regard to) the rise in disasters for a better life today and tomorrow,” he concluded.

Appreciation
On the occasion, several United Nations (UN) officials — President of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly Abdulla Shahid, UN Deputy Secretary General Amina Mohammed, and Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction Mami Mizutori — lauded Indonesia for being successful in controlling COVID-19, so that the 2022 GPDRR forum could be held in-person in Nusa Dua, Bali.

“I would like to convey the appreciation of the UN to the president of Indonesia and the people for hosting the 2022 GPDRR,” Mohammed stated at the opening ceremony.

“I would like to congratulate and appreciate Indonesia for the measures that have been taken to address COVID (as a) response that had allowed us to meet in this conference here in-person,” she stated.

According to the UN deputy secretary general, Indonesia’s efforts to vaccinate its population of 217 million people is a major achievement.

“We applaud the leader of Indonesia for its vaccine program for keeping everyone safe and reacting and responding to the COVID pandemic,” she stated.

She also affirmed that Indonesia is a critical partner that has taught the world a lot about disaster risk reduction.

“Your willingness to host this important gathering is a testament to theleading role that you (Indonesia) play in sustaining development and climate action,” she remarked.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Director Ricardo Mena lauded Indonesia as a country that is leading in the global efforts for disaster risk reduction.

“This is a very important (effort), and I think this is where we think that Indonesia is leading in terms of the global efforts to reduce disaster risks,” Ricardo Mena stated in a special interview with ANTARA here on Monday (May 23).

Mena remarked that Indonesia has put forth a strong message about the importance of disaster risk reduction efforts by hosting the 2022 GPDRR.

“We believe that Indonesia is giving a very strong message through the engagement and hosting of the GPDRR here in Bali. We are very thankful to the Indonesian Government for that,” he remarked.

The UNDRR director also highlighted Indonesia’s leadership in adopting the long-term disaster risk reduction plan.

“I think what I would like to highlight is that Indonesia is one of the few countries in the world that has adopted a very long term plan to reduce disaster risks,” he remarked.

“This is very important because if you want to really address the root causes, and you cannot do it in two, three, or five years. It is impossible, and we look and welcome very much the fact that Indonesia has a plan to reduce disaster risks that goes even beyond 2040,” he added.

To that end, Mena also encouraged other countries to follow Indonesia’s steps in adopting long-term plans for disaster risk reduction.

Indonesia hosts a series of meetings of the 7th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) in Bali on May 23-28, 2022.

 ولد الإصدار المحدود XTURISMO، الذي كان قيد التطوير منذ عام 2017 من طرف شركة A.L.I.Technologies، من الرغبة في تقديم تجربة جديدة وأحاسيس لا مثيل لها للتحرك في الهواء. مع نظام الدفع الهجين الذي يتكون من محرك احتراق وأربعة محركات كهربائية، فإن الإصدار المحدود XTURISMO قادر على الطيران لمدة 40 دقيقة، ويصل لِسرعة 100 كم/ساعة.

على الرغم من عدم اعتماده للاستخدام العام * وقصره على التدريب على الحلبة، فقد تم وضع الإصدار المحدود XTURISMO بالفعل باعتباره الرمز الجديد للجيل التالي من التنقل الجوي؛ من أجل “أولئك الذين يسعون إلى آفاق جديدة للسفر”.
