‫ CGTN：الصين تقدم تعهدات جديدة لمساعدة البلدان النامية على التغلب على كوفيد-19

بكين، 22 مايو 2021 /PRNewswire/ — أعلنت الصين يوم الجمعة عن عدة تدابير جديدة لمساعدة البلدان النامية على مواجهة جائحة كوفيد-19 وآثاره الكاسحة، وتعهدت بالمساهمة بمبلغ 3 مليارات دولار في السنوات الثلاث المقبلة وتقديم المزيد من اللقاحات.

حث الرئيس الصيني “شي جين بينغ” في كلمته أمام قمة الصحة العالمية عبر اتصال الفيديو، الاقتصادات الرائدة في العالم على معالجة أوجه القصور وسد الثغرات وتقوية الروابط الضعيفة في مكافحة “أخطر جائحة منذ قرن”.

واستضافت القمة كل من المفوضية الأوروبية وإيطاليا، رئيسة مجموعة العشرين (G20) هذا العام.

تجاوز عدد حالات الإصابة المؤكدة بكوفيد-19 في جميع أنحاء العالم 165 مليونًا، مع أكثر من 3.4 مليون حالة وفاة، وفقًا لبيانات من جامعة جونز هوبكنز.

‘سد فجوة التحصين’

وقال “شي”: “قبل عام، اقترحت أن اللقاحات ينبغي أن تكون منفعة عامة عالمية. واليوم، أصبحت مشكلة التطعيم غير المتكافئ أكثر حدة.”

وقال الدكتور “تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس” ـ المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية (WHO) ـ في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر أنه تم إعطاء أكثر من 1.1 مليار جرعة لقاح كوفيد-19 على مستوى العالم، ولكن تم إعطاء أكثر من 80 في المائة من تلك الجرعات في البلدان ذات الدخل المرتفع والمتوسط، بينما توجد نسبة 0.3 في المائة فقط من التطعيمات في البلدان منخفضة الدخل.

وأشار “شي” إلى أن الصين قد قدمت 300 مليون جرعة من اللقاحات للعالم؛ وقدمت لقاحات مجانية لأكثر من 80 دولة نامية في حاجة ماسة وصدّرت لقاحات إلى 43 دولة، مضيفًا أن الصين ستوفر المزيد من اللقاحات بأفضل ما في وسعها.

وقال إن الصين تدعم شركات اللقاحات لديها في نقل التقنيات إلى الدول النامية الأخرى وتنفيذ الإنتاج المشترك معها.

وأكد من جديد دعم الصين للتنازل عن حقوق الملكية الفكرية للقاحات كوفيد-19، وقال إن البلاد “تدعم منظمة التجارة العالمية والمؤسسات الدولية الأخرى لاتخاذ قرار مبكر بشأن هذه المسألة”.

وقد طرح اقتراحًا لإنشاء منتدى دولي حول التعاون في مجال اللقاحات لتعزيز التوزيع العادل والمنصف للقاحات حول العالم.

وشدد “شي” على أنه “يجب علينا التمسك بالإنصاف والمساواة ونحن نسعى جاهدين لسد فجوة التطعيم. من الضروري بالنسبة لنا رفض التمييز في اللقاحات حسب الجنسية وإيجاد حلول للقضايا المتعلقة بالقدرة الإنتاجية وتوزيع اللقاحات، من أجل جعل اللقاحات أكثر يسرًا ومعقولة التكلفة بالنسبة إلى البلدان النامية.”

المزيد من الدعم المالي

لقد قدمت الصين بالفعل ملياري دولار للمساعدة في استجابة البلدان النامية لكوفيد-19؛ وأرسلت إمدادات طبية إلى أكثر من 150 دولة و13 منظمة دولية، مع تقديم أكثر من 280 مليار كمامة و3.4 مليار بدلة واقية وأربعة مليارات مجموعة اختبار إلى العالم، وفقًا لما ذكره “شي”.

وأعلن أن “الصين ستقدم 3 مليارات دولار إضافية من المساعدات الدولية على مدى السنوات الثلاث المقبلة لدعم الاستجابة لكوفيد-19 والتعافي الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في البلدان النامية الأخرى”.

ذكر “شي”، زعيم أكبر دولة نامية في العالم، عبارة “الدول النامية” 11 مرة في خطاب استغرق أقل من سبع دقائق، داعيًا أعضاء مجموعة العشرين إلى بذل المزيد من الجهد لمساعدتهم ومعالجة مخاوفهم.

وقال إن “الصين تنفذ بشكل كامل مبادرة مجموعة العشرين لتعليق خدمة الدين للبلدان الأكثر فقرًا وأجلت حتى الآن سداد ديون تتجاوز 1.3 مليار دولار، وهو أعلى مبلغ تأجيل بين أعضاء مجموعة العشرين”.

وقال الرئيس الصيني إنه من الضروري أن يواصل أعضاء مجموعة العشرين دعم البلدان النامية بوسائل مثل تعليق الديون والمساعدة التنموية.

ودعا “شي” كذلك إلى تحسين نظام الحوكمة العالمي. قال الرئيس الصيني إنه يتعين على دول مجموعة العشرين تعزيز دور الأمم المتحدة ومنظمة الصحة العالمية والاستفادة منهما وتحسين نظام الوقاية من الأمراض ومكافحتها على الصعيد العالمي.

وأضاف “من المهم أن نتمسك بروح المشاورات المكثفة، والمساهمة المشتركة والمنافع المشتركة، والاستماع الكامل لوجهات نظر الدول النامية، وان نعكس بشكل افضل مخاوفها المشروعة”.

وكرر “شي” دعوته للتضامن والتعاون في مكافحة كوفيد-19 وبناء مجتمع عالمي من الصحة للجميع.

وقال إن “الوباء تذكير آخر بأننا كبشر ننهض وننهار في مستقبل مشترك. ويجب أن ندافع عن رؤية بناء مجتمع عالمي للصحة للجميع، وأن نتغلب على هذا الوقت العصيب من خلال التضامن والتعاون، وأن نرفض بشدة أي محاولة لتسييس الفيروس أو التصنيف على أساسه أو وصمه”.

Global COVID-19 cases top 166.4mn

The total number of global COVID-19 cases has surged to 166,438,036, as of Sunday, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

The Bloomberg news agency, said that the University, in its latest update, revealed that the current global death toll reached around 3,449,399. More than 1.6 billion received the COVID-19 jab around the world.

GAM warns 48 facilities for violating health standards

The inspection teams of the Health and Professional Supervision and Inspection Department at the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) shut down 8 facilities, while 48 other facilities were given a warning for violating health and professional conditions.

According to a statement issued by the GAM Sunday, the teams inspected 297 facilities yesterday, unveiling a number of health and professional violations.

Moderate weather forecast today nationwide

Temperatures on Sunday are expected to mark 3-4 degrees below annual average, so fair weather conditions will prevail countrywide, with low clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

On Monday, similar moderate weather will remain in the highlands and the plains, while it will be relatively hot in other parts of the Kingdom, with clouds at various altitudes and a chance of light showers in the northern and eastern regions, the JMD added.

Toward Tuesday, mercury levels will rise few degrees, becoming around seasonal average, making fair weather in the hilly areas and the plains, and hot conditions in other areas of the country, with medium-altitude clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD noted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Sunday will range between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 15C or even 11C in the southern highlands. In the gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 33C and a low of 22C.

Planning ministry supports 557 MSMEs in 2020

The Ministry of Planning provided funding for about 557 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in 2020, under the ministry’s Economic and Social Productivity Enhancement Program.

In response to inquiries by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Sunday, the ministry said the businesses included local community bodies of charitable and cooperative societies as well as voluntary and women’s organizations.

“The project also financed entrepreneurial projects through the Development and Employment Fund’s funding window, and ventures of military retirees through zero-interest soft loans, along with providing technical and advisory support services for 800 projects under the nation-wide program, ERADA” it added.

The ministry stated that the volume of funding for the Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) amounted to about JD6.2 million in 2020, implementing an integrated package of activities and initiatives to attain developmental impact nationwide and provide employment opportunities.

As for supporting the MSMEs affected by the COVID pandemic, the ministry said it had previously signed a $10 million loan agreement with the Islamic Development Bank, with no profit margin, in addition to a non-refundable grant of $130,000 to contribute in financing these businesses.

Israeli occupation forces arrest 16 Palestinians in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces, Sunday, arrested 16 Palestinians in various areas in the West Bank and the occupied city of Jerusalem following widespread raids and arrest and search campaigns.

In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said that Israeli occupation forces stormed the cities of Ramallah, Bireh, Nablus and Jenin, as well as multiple neighborhoods in occupied East Jerusalem, apprehending the 16 citizens and claiming that they are “wanted.”

Israel’s arrest of Jerusalem Endowment employees ‘unacceptable’ escalation-Awqaf Minister

Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Mohammad Khalayleh, said attacks by the Israeli occupation authorities, on Sunday morning, at Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, by arresting and beating guards and employees of Jordan-run Jerusalem Endowment Department and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs is an “unacceptable practice” and a “new escalation” aimed at disrupting its work and terrorizing its staff.

In press statement, the minister said these Israeli attacks continuously target Al Aqsa Mosque and work of Jerusalem Endowment Department in a “systematic manner.”

This Israeli policy will only push “our determination and adherence to the Islamic right in Al-Haram Al-Sharif with its entire area of 144 dunums that is not negotiable, nor divisible,” the minister said.

Citing instances on the recent desecration at the mosque, he said the occupation soldiers smashed some tiles around the Dome of the Rock, and broke seven historical windows at Qibli Mosque of Al-Aqsa.

The minister also said the Israeli acts of sabotage caused heavy damage to the mosque’s audio, and power infrastructure.

To repair the destruction, he said the ministry will assess the damage caused by the Israeli belligerence at the mosque by Jerusalem Endowment Department and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs.

JIC, Jordanian embassies team up to market economic opportunities

The Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) on Sunday started a series of meetings with the Jordanian embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, to develop a mechanism for cooperation and draw structures of marketing to attract value-adding foreign investments to the Kingdom.

During the meetings, the JIC will also inform the political bodies on the needed knowledge and data on the Kingdom’s investment opportunities and target investors.

In a statement, JIC’s acting president Faridon Hartouqa said the meetings are being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, stressing the Jordanian embassies’ role in marketing the Kingdom’s economic and investment opportunities, and informing the international business community about the preferential features of the Jordanian investment environment.

He also highlighted the government’s commitment to achieving a significant growth in the volume of inbound investments, according to well-thought-out foundations, sound economic environment and good investment climate that attracts foreign direct investment.
