15 Palestinians arrested in Israeli army raids

Israeli occupation forces carried out raids across the West Bank and East Jerusalem early Tuesday, arrested 15 Palestinians and referred them to military investogators, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

It said army jeeps stormed Ramallah, El Bireh, Tubas, Hebron and Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, sparking clashes with local youth.

Meantime, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned ongoing attacks by hardline Jewish settlers against Palestinians, homes, property and holy sites in the occupied West Bank, under the protection of the Israeli army.

In a statement, the ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for the escalation of violations and crimes by the occupation authority and armed settlers, pointing out that successive Israeli governments have sought to block any political horizon for resolving the conflict.

The statement pointed to the latest Israeli violations, such as attacks by settlers on the town of Hawara near Nablus on Monday in which at least 15 Palestinians were injured, the closure of Nablus-Qalkilya road, ongoing attacks in Masafer Yatta near Hebron as well as the demolition of homes, stores and agricultural facilities.

It urged the international community to intervene and pressure the occupation authority to stop the settlement expansion and all forms of violations and engage in a real peace process to end the occupation as stipulated by international legitimacy resolutions.
